Man on The Cross says Otherwise!

 4/11/2020

MAN ON THE CROSS SAYS OTHERWISE!

Jesus grant healing

to the broken spirit

which I carry within

hurting inside

blowing up at small touch

reveals the deep wound

do I caress it?

do I nurse it?

for what?

then why am I

pondering over it

again & again.

it is being caressed

and thought on so much

its taking roots of dislike

and then turning into deep hatred

that to me it seems

totally alright

and justified

But the Man on The Cross

says otherwise!

He shows his hands,

his feet and his head

which has thorns & nails

as I caressed

comforted my wounds

I was pressing those

on his head

making it firm

making sure

it doesn't leave that place

my eyes and heart

so consumed with

hate, hurt and pain

I forgot

it brought blood

oozing out

that flowed

not because of anyone else

but me

How ignorant and small I am

calling myself

disciple of the Master

whom I crucify

and give Him crown of thorns

Take it out

take away

those nails and thorns

Man on the Cross

didn't deserve it

someone else did

I am that someone

I see myself

in the role of the soldier

the thief who rejected paradise

But Lord you are calling me

to find myself

in the role of Mary

in the role of John

in the role of Joseph

embracing death that comes

because of sin

embracing love

in hurtful moments

embracing the place to rest

even when it isn't mine

Master take away those

thorns and nails

I will not caress and sulk

over and over again

in my wound

rather I will care

for you

I'll seek Our Lady

how she handled it

broken and wounded

yet she stood still

knowing and believing

You are God

Teach me to focus

on your wounds

your pain O Lord

in the light of which

mine seems nothing

remind me again

what takes place on Calvary

when I sit and caress and lick

my wounds within

when I forget

to lift my gaze

to the moments

when you hung on the Cross

not for anyone else

but for me
