Lenten Retreat 2007

I was writing an invite for a Lenten programme and the first four lines that came to my mind kept it as opening lines for the Invitation. And now I am putting it for all the readers, if You are from NEW DELHI, do join in with your near and dear ones.

Dear reader,

"When You are hopeless, HE is Your HOPE
When You are weary, HE brings YOU rest
When You are restless, HE is Your PEACE
When you are sad, HE is YOUR JOY."

Even though life doesn't seem to bring pleasant things, HE TURNS IT AROUND for GOOD for those who LOVE GOD and are CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE.(Romans 8:28).So during this Lenten Season, I invite you and Your family to a Lenten Retreat, led by Aneel Aranha from Dubai. He is a lay person involved in the proclamation of the Word. The details are given below and also in the attached PDF file.

STILL MY SOUL, LORD (2007)
It's in the darkest night that I find my shelter
in my pain i know the master's touch.
from the depths my soul cries
You are my light and my salvation

when everything in life fades,
in haste my souls searches
i find myself gazing at my shadow
not realising there's shimmering light
which falls on my back

I turn around only to find You My Morning Star
How you brighten up my life with Your presence

I will gladly lay down

Before hitting my bed, some words were ringing in my ears such as pride, appreciations, praise, acclaims that I receive. With these my soul whispered, what it is when compared to the glory of the Lord...NOTHING.

St. Paul's words echoed again and again from Philippians 3: 7-11 "But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead."
